The Desalination pellet is a rare item used to remove salt from liquids, turning it from Brackish [Liquid] into [Liquid]. When used, this pellet will also convert up to 64 drams of Salty Water into Fresh Water, and up to 64 drams of Slime into Gel. It also works when dropped into the liquid, which is much more cost-effective, as a single pellet can easily create as much as 1800 Fresh Water when used on brackish water this way.
It can be found rarely in the caves beneath Qud as a "tiny trinket", purchased from an Apothecary and Ichor Merchant. Can rarely be purchased from a general goods dealer, such as Tam, the Dromad merchant found in Joppa.
With a high enough Ego it will always be a good idea to buy these from merchants, as the value of the 64 drams of Fresh Water it can produce will be higher than the cost.
Using excess Desalination pellets is more weight-effective than carrying water, as water is heavy and salty water is plentiful.
